Artist’s Note:
While this piece maintains the light and delicate quality of the blush pink ranunculus that inspired it, the darker palette evokes a more intimate and moody feeling, with pockets of deep colour highlighting the inner folds of the flower. The eye is naturally drawn to the centre of the bloom, where rich fuchsia, pink and warm burnt orange tones emerge from within the layered petals, creating a striking contrast against the vibrant green centre. The balanced shape of this particular bloom creates a sense of harmony.
